The period of time it takes to act varies from person to person, but normally this period varies between 1 to 2 hours. The maximum plasma concentration is reached in an average time between 1 and 2 hours after taking it.
The rate at which Vriligy (Dapoxetine) is absorbed by the body does not change depending on the food you consume, so you can take Vriligy (Dapoxetine) with or without food.
You should not drink alcoholic beverages while this product is working as the effects of alcohol such as dizziness, drowsiness and slow reactions may be increased when taking Vriligy (Dapoxetine).
Detailed information
The mechanism that allows Vriligy (Dapoxetine) to change the timing of ejaculation is still not fully known.
Vriligy (Dapoxetine) is presumed to function as an inhibitor of serotonin transport and the subsequent enhancement of the neurotransmitter’s action at presynaptic and postsynaptic receptors.
Ejaculation is regulated by several areas in the central nervous system.
The path to be taken by the signal that activates ejaculation, originates from a spinal reflex at the thoracolumbar and lumbosacral level that is produced by the stimulation of the male sexual organ.
That signal is then transmitted to the brainstem, which is then influenced by a number of nuclei in the brain such as the medial preoptic and the paraventricular nucleus.
The effect of Vriligy (Dapoxetine) causes an increase in latency in the discharge of the pudendal monotheuronium reflex (PMRD).
It is however unknown whether Vriligy (Dapoxetine) acts directly on the LPGi or on the downward pathway where the LPGi is located.
